The gates of hell have reopened for Chicago's most insane comedy festival, the second annual DEVIL FEST. For one night only, all your favorite Chicago teams and shows throw out their usual forms--whether it's the Harold, musical improv, or short form--and unleash an explosion of unholy theatrical experimentation.
What mind bending chaos will they wreak? What unhinged evil performances will they conjure? At Devil Fest, expect the unexpected and prepare to have your sense of reality forever warped.
Tickets get you in for the whole night, 6pm to 12am, and every act is completely different.

VanDuvall & 4rd Productions, in collaboration with The iO Theater, announces a new single day BIPOC Comedy Festival: The Fest Vol. 1!
On June 19th, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 10:00pm, the festival will be held at the historic improv comedy theater’s Lincoln Park location, located at 1501 N Kingsbury St, and will feature ten of Chicago’s best improv and sketch teams featuring all performers of color!
The Fest: Vol. 1 kicks off with an industry showcase that starts at 5:00 pm where a lineup of all star POC comedians will be performing tight fives and solo material. This showcase is FREE, but reserving a ticket is highly recommended.
Then at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm Chicago’s best improv and sketch groups that feature performers of color will take the stage. Each of these show slots are $20 each and are ticketed separately.
To end the night, we will all party and celebrate with a DJ on our outdoor patio.

On January 17th, the gates of hell burst open for Devil Fest, a one-night-only demonic bacchanalia of comedy at iO Theater hosted by Devil’s Daughter. This is not your typical comedy festival--this is a descent into pure madness.
Imagine all of your favorite comedy teams--those stalwarts of the Harold, musical improv, and short form games--completely unleashed from their usual forms. What chaotic theatrical experiments will they perform? What mind bending evil performances might they conjure? The Asian Persuasion - The 27th Annual Asian American Showcase
In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, iO presents The Asian Persuasion Comedy Variety Showcase in partnership with The Foundation for Asian American Independent Media (FAAIM). This comedy variety show will take place May 26th at 8:00 PM at iO Theater and be the culmination of FAAIM’s film festival happening the week prior at the Gene Siskel Theater.

Regarded as one of Chicago's funniest and most promising improv groups of the last decade, Dumb John is proud to return to The iO Theater where they got their start with a new weekly long form improv show.
Longtime members Mike Geraghty, Steve Plock, and Linda Orr apply their high energy strain of improvisation to a bizarre cultural harvest of small town Americana influence and ephemera.
Dumb John uses a single audience suggestion to inspire a piece of unhinged long form improv that propels diesel-soaked characters through fever dream karaoke scenes and down neon aisles of roadside antique marts; exploring the depravity and brilliance found at the heart of every moment. Wipe off your boots, grab an ice cold cruiser and join them for an evening of more fun than the law allows.

Dynasty is an all-minority improv group! And this is their weekly variety show, featuring standup, sketch, and improv! Formed in 2016, Dynasty has played all over Chicago. Our performers have been featured in the Second City Bob Curry Fellowship, and at The Annoyance Theatre, UP Comedy Club, and Second City Mainstage.
